Deciding to rent a property is a pretty simple process.

With around 1 in 5 properties being privately rented in England & Wales, renting is perfect if you’re moving out of the family home for the first time, trying to break a chain when you are selling a property, and also if you need to check out an area that you might be new too, rather than committing to a mortgage.

When you rent a property as a tenant, there are a few things to bear in mind. The minimum assured shorthold tenancy agreement is for 6 months, you will be required to pay each months rent in advance and also be required to pay a damages deposit equivalent of one and a half months rent, and, as and when you find a property, you will have to undergo a credit & reference check to make sure you are suitable for the property. This is also a cost that you will have to cover.

Our fees to tenants for these checks are £150 for a one person tenancy and £200 for a 2 person tenancy.
